Our growth has created an opportunity for a Senior Vice President of Finance. As our SVP of Finance, you will be responsible for developing and directing Shift’s financial functions including financial policies, planning, reporting, and controls.  As Senior Vice President of Finance, you will also be ensuring that the company’s financial transactions support our overall business strategy while following all laws and regulations.  The ideal candidate has an accounting degree or an MBA, experience in the digital asset space, extensive treasury experience, and managing accounting personnel.  This position will report to Shift’s COO.

* Lead the finance department, which includes financial operations and accounting teams.

* Create goals for the finance department that support the company’s objectives.

* Review and approve financial policies developed by the finance department.

* Analyze data and develop reports with accounting & finance data.

* Create and deliver financial presentations.

* Oversee treasury functions, including the movement of funds (both fiat and crypto).

* Take the lead in completing the financial statement audit and managing the company’s external auditors.

* Be a mentor to finance department managers.

* Provide recommendations on strategic direction to the executive team.  

* Develop budgets, policies, and procedures that support the company as a whole.

* Deep knowledge of accounting, audit, corporate finance, and treasury functions

* Experience in the digital asset space

* Experience with financial concepts

* Experience with business valuations and different valuation methods

* Comprehensive knowledge of the overall finance function of a company is required

* 5 to 8+ years of experience in a financial operations, treasury, or accounting role

* 2+ years of experience in a finance team leadership role

* Professional work experience related to cryptocurrency

* Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required; Master's preferred

This is a full-time position that requires working on-site in our New York City office on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
