Director of Platform Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Platform Engineering to join our dynamic and innovative team. As the Director of Platform Engineering, you will play a crucial role in leading and driving the development and maintenance of our platform infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of talented engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our platform. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of platform engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to foster professional growth and development.
• Develop and execute the platform engineering strategy, aligning it with business objectives and driving innovation and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and delivery management, to understand requirements, set priorities, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Define and implement best practices, standards, and processes for platform engineering, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the platform's capabilities and efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze system performance and reliability metrics, identifying areas for optimization and implementing necessary measures.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the company and the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree/MS in Computer Science, Physics, Math, etc.
• Proven 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale, highly available platforms.
• Strong technical expertise in platform engineering, including architecture design, cloud technologies, microservices, containerization, and scalability.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
• Experience managing and leading a team of engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to changing business needs, and lead through complexity and ambiguity.
