This position is 100% remote, based in the Mexico, and will report to the CFO.
As the Controller you will...
- Ensure financial statements and reports, including U.S. GAAP results for Tribal Credit
- Institute a comprehensive month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting process with clear reporting, analysis, and strong financial controls
- Provide oversight and execution of corporate accounting specific to all partnership platforms (revenue recognition), TRBL Ltd. (Crypto accounting) and Tribal Cash (Cayman Mutual Fund)
- Ensure that accounting policies and procedures are well understood and complied
- Monitor legal entity transaction flows and ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of intercompany and tax-related accounts
- Proactively work on developing tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax positions globally
- Manage external audits for all entities and lead remediation activities as required
- Stay abreast of the company’s business and related accounting requirements in all geographies
- Support and manage all debt covenant compliance reporting in partnership with controllership
- Build and lead high-performing team with a focus on talent development and empowerment
Who You Are
- 9+ years of progressive controllership experience
- 3+ years of accounting and auditing experience at a Big 4 firm
- Specific experience in the payments / financial services / ecommerce / digital asset space
- Strong US GAAP technical knowledge especially in revenue recognition, FX, software capitalization, digital assets and fair value accounting
- Strong knowledge of internal controls (knowledge of SOX requirements preferred)
- Experience with managing internal and external audits and auditor relationships
- Understanding of international corporate taxation (including transfer pricing, permanent establishment, VAT and other common issues)
- Effective team management skills and experience of leading a large Finance team
- Experience in / knowledge of digital asset accounting a strong plus
- Agile, flexible, and responsive approach to work.
